For the case to begin charging your phone, you must hold the button on the back of the case down for a full 3 seconds. Quickly pressing the button down will only indicate what the current battery percentage of the case is.
We recommend charging the case by itself for the first full charge. After that, you can charge the phone and case at the same time. The first charge can take anywhere from 3-6 hours, depending on the battery level when you received it. You will know the case is fully charged when all four lights on the back of the case are solid white, and none of them blinking while still on the charger.
When charging the phone and case together (with a cord or wireless charging pad), whichever has the least amount of battery will charge first. Sometimes the phone and case will charge together and sometimes one will charge before the other. If you want to only charge the case, and not your phone, you can simply remove the phone from the case.
To extend the lifespan of your battery, if the battery gets too warm, software might limit charging above 80 percent.
